Wow, what a season 2018/19 was. In addition to our regular touring schedule, which was particularly busy this season, we had some exciting new things happen. We travelled back to New Zealand, after a long absence, to take part in the Adam Music Festival in Nelson. We also presented the complete Bartok quartets at the Wigmore Hall, as well as our Brahms project in Groningen. In October we joined up with Pinchas Zukerman and Amanda Forsyth for a whirlwind US tour of string sextets by Strauss, Schönberg, and Tchaikovsky. We all had such a tremendously fun time that we immediately blocked the first available dates to reconvene. Look out for our tours in the 20/21 season.
This summer, we will launch a new festival together with Crans-Montana Classics. A week of concerts, masterclasses and other interactions with four exceptional young string quartets. We are very much looking forward to this new endeavor and hope you can join us in this magical location for some fantastic music. More information can be found on the Crans-Montana Classics website.
Towards the end of August we will be joined by Elisabeth Leonskaja, with whom we have been developing a deep and fruitful musical and personal friendship, for two concerts in Austria, and then one concert in the Zeist Musiekdagen, where we will perform two concerts, and teach young ensembles in this wonderful seminar, where the quartet spent some seminal summers in its young life as a student ensemble. More information on the Zeist Musiekdagen website.
We hope to see you at one of our concerts.
