The quartet has decided to join forces with the legendary Sonia Simmenauer in Berlin, who as of July 1st will take over as the quartet´s general management. We are all very excited about this development, and are looking forward to this new collaboration.

A few weeks ago, we had to announce – with a heavy heart – the retirement of the Tokyo String Quartet in summer 2013 after an international career spanning over 40 years. Today, we are all the more delighted to announce that we are taking over, with immediate effect, the general management of the Jerusalem Quartet.

The Jerusalem Quartet is an internationally renowned ensemble that performs regularly on all important stages of the world. The quartet´s recordings have received critical acclaim, and its most recent release, featuring Schumann´s Piano Quartet and Piano Quintet with pianist Alexander Melnikov, has similarly been given rave reviews.

In the next two seasons, the Jerusalem Quartet will be on tour with a complete Shostakovich cycle. The quartet will also be performing a Brahms cycle with all three quartets, as well as the quintets for viola, clarinet and piano.
