Since the jerusalem quartet was founded while the members were young teenagers, it has not been simple to locate the quartet's exact birthday. So we decided to celebrate the 2015/16 season as our 20th anniversary season since the quartet first appeared professionally in 1995.

For this very special season, we have some very exciting projects in store. Our main focus will be Bartok's 6 magnificent string quartets, which we have chosen to present in different formats. As a two-concert cycle of the six quartets, in a three-concert series juxtaposed with three of Joseph Haydn's most beloved quartets, and finally in a four-concert cycle combined with Beethoven's 6 quartets Op.18. These cycles will begin in January in Tel Aviv, and continue in Portland, New York, Madrid, and Hamburg.

We are also very excited to have the privilege to collaborate with Sir Andras Schiff with whom we will perform the lesser known piano quartet by Mieczyslaw Weinberg alongside the much beloved Brahms Piano Quintet.

Finally, this season we are releasing 2 albums with the Harmonia Mundi Label. First, a double CD of Beethoven's quartets Op.18, and in early 2017 an album of Bartok's Quartets Nos. 2, 4,  and 6.

We expect this to be our most exciting season yet. We hope you can be a part of it.
